IT Audit Staff

Macpage LLC is seeking full‐time IT Audit Staff to be part of our Information Assurance Services team in our South Portland, Maine office. The Information Assurance Services team provides SOC 1/SSAE 16 (formerly SAS 70 audits) Examinations, SOC 2 examinations, IT General Controls Reviews, Information Risk Assessments, and IT Internal Audits.


  • Participates on engagements of various sizes and types under the direction of experienced team members.
  • Performs assigned tasks to the highest quality standards and within the project budget.
  • Assists with project tasks during engagements including preparing workpapers and developing draft deliverables.
  • Applies knowledge of information systems and security trends to identify engagement risk issues.
  • Communicates engagement status and issues to experienced team members.
  • Participates in presenting at internal training events.
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with client personnel.
  • Assists with maintaining Information Assurance Services templates and procedures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • This is an entry‐level position.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as management information systems, accounting, or business.
  • Interest in obtaining or currently working towards relevant industry certifications, such as CPA, CIA, CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CISSP, or CITP.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong business writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work on‐site at client locations, including travel up to 50%.

Tax Manager

We are seeking qualified candidates to perform a wide variety of diversified, complex, tax related tasks and supervise other personnel in the tax department. The candidate will have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work well in teams.


  • Preparing personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Acting as a resource for Tax Staff.
  • Analyzing and reviewing IRS notices and draft responses.
  • Acting as the primary client contact for engagements.
  • Contributing to the client service team by producing quality work with a quick turnaround and attentive service.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related field.
  • 4-5 years’ experience in accounting or tax return preparation.
  • Advanced management, communication and personal skills.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft Office and tax software programs.
  • CPA certification

Senior Associate (Tax)

We are seeking experienced candidates in the area of tax to assist with the preparation of complex tax returns, developing and maintaining client relationships, and working as part of a team. Candidates will act as a resource in tax for staff and assist in the training of other Tax department personnel.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or other related field.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Well-rounded tax knowledge.
  • 1-3 years experience in tax is preferred.
  • Proficient in the use of computers, Microsoft Office and tax software programs.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • A Master’s degree in Taxation is a plus.

Accounting Associate

Applicants will have a desire to be challenged with their work in an environment that promotes professional growth and development.


  • Highly independent worker with the ability to multitask and complete assignments in a timely manner.
  • Associates or Bachelors Degree in Business or related field is preferred.
  • CPA certification is a plus.

Seasonal Tax Preparer

Must be available February 1st – April 15th


  • Assist with the preparing and analyzing of complex tax returns during the height of our busy season.

Accounting Transaction Specialist

The Accounting Transaction Specialist is responsible for supporting our clients in the areas of accounts receivable, accounts payable and transaction entry. Accounts receivable tasks include customer invoicing, recording of deposits, and supporting clients with customer collections. Accounts payable tasks include entry of vendor bills received by the client and download, data entry and accurate coding of client credit card expense transactions. The Accounting Transaction Specialist is responsible for ensuring that W-9 forms are received from new vendors prior to initial payments being issued, and that these forms are updated annually to maintain current and accurate information. Additional transactional accounting responsibilities include download and data entry of client bank account activity, travel & expense reporting, and payroll activity.


  • Associates Degree in Accounting or related field at minimum. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. College interns with a major in accounting will be considered. Grade point average of 3.3 or higher preferred.
  • Prior bookkeeping experience with specific experience in an Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and/or Payroll environment that processes a high volume of transactions preferred
  • Strong technology skills with accounting software, such as QuickBooks and Intacct
  • Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office 2007 or later (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook at a minimum, more applications preferred)
  • Experience working in a paperless environment strongly preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills
  • Team player with a positive ”can‐do” approach
  • A general and growing knowledge of firm products and services in the practice area, and a general knowledge of products and services in other practice areas
  • The ability to handle stress and manage multiple priorities
